The Spanish Association of Symphony Orchestras (AEOS) is a non profit organisation founded in 1993 and made up of 35 symphony orchestras, divided into 31 members, 28 of wich are professional, 2 are youth orchestras and 1 of them is an international orchestra. Besides, since 2019, there are 4 associated orchestras, actively involving conservatory and freelance orchestras. According to its statutes, the aim of the AEOS is to identify and carry out initiatives that lead to greater cooperation and coordination among its members through a variety of activities. The AEOS promotes the exchange of information between its members and serves as an important meeting point for them. It also represents its members at national and international conferences and meetings.

+155.000 DIRECT BENEFICIARIES

More than 155.000 people benefit directly from the educational and social projects of the orchestras, participating in concerts, training workshops, visits to centers, teacher training and social intervention.

230 DIFFERENT ACTIONS AEOS

Orchestras carry out an averange of 230 social or educational activities per season, wich represents at least 22% or their general activity.

+71.4% RISK OF EXCLUSION

The orchestras have worked with different social groups, in which more than 70% consider themselves at risk of exclusion.

*In addition to hospitalized people (52.4%), nursing homes (52,4%), unaccompained minors and immigrants (28.6%) and people with various disabilities (71.4%).

100% MUSICIANS

81% of the orchestras perform school and family concerts in which the entire orchestral staff participates.

*Other educational projects include programs for new audeinces (62%), projects in medium-long-term educational centrer (57%), youth orchestras and choirs (48%), orchestras and children’s choirs (38%).
