European Commission – Social Dialogue

 

10 October 2019 | Brussels – Belgium

As a member of Pearle, the AEOS actively participates on behalf of Spain in sectoral dialogues with the representatives of persons employed in the performing arts and music sector in Europe. These dialogues create a bridge for communication between employers and employees which is necessary for understanding and the development of the sector. On this occasion, the 20th anniversary of the creation of this working group was also celebrated.

 

 

American League of Orchestras 74th International Conference

 

3 – 5 June 2019 | Nashville – United States

The international conference of the League of American Orchestras is the most important gathering in the orchestra sector in the United States. It features debates on all significant matters at an international level. Special attention was paid at this edition to strategies for researching and developing audience, orchestras as agents of change, diversity, inclusion, the #metoo era, digital marketing, and philanthropy.

European Orchestras Forum and 57th Pearle Conference

 

24 and 25 May 2019 | Plovdiv – Bulgaria

Representatives from European orchestra associations gathered in Sofia (Bulgaria) to tackle matters of shared interest within the sector, following which, in Plovdiv, they joined in the work of other representatives from performing-arts and music employers’ associations as part of the 57th Pearle Conference

Classical Next 2019

 

15 – 18 May 2019 Rotterdam – the Netherlands

Thanks to the support provided by Acción Cultural Española and the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport, the ‘Made in Spain’ stand was in attendance for the first time, and five of the most representative bodies of the sector were there, participating jointly, in representation of our country: the Association of Symphony Orchestras (AEOS), the Association of Classical-Music Festivals (FestClásica), the Association of Antique-Music Groups (GEMA), Musical Youth of Spain (JME), and the musical magazine Scherzo. Classical Next is the most important classical-music gathering in Europe with 1300 participants, 700 organizations, 90 speakers, and 300 artists.

European Orchestras Forum

The orchestra associations of the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Spain met in London to discuss the future of European orchestras and the skills that the musicians of the future will need to be taught in view of the challenges facing the sector.

 

ABO Annual Conference

 

23 – 25 January 2019 | Belfast – United Kingdom

The Association of British Orchestras (ABO) holds an annual conference as the primary gathering of the classical-music industry in the United Kingdom and as a training and reference hub for representatives from the orchestra industry around the world. This year the conferences and forums focussed on current issues such as equality, diversity, and inclusion, and on the challenges facing Europe with regard to Brexit.

Find Your Way – Association of British Orchestras ABO

 

16 – 18 March 2018 | Aldeburgh (Reino Unido)

Course on leadership, artistic and strategic planning, marketing, financial sustainability and other key aspects in the development of symphony orchestras. The AEOS was part of the residential course held at Snape Maltings (Aldeburgh) from March the 16th to the 18th , which also included orchestras such as the Royal Opera House, London Symphony Orchestra, City of London Symphony, Town Hall Symphony Hall, City of London Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble or the London Philharmonic Orchestra.


 

Classical:NEXT 18

 

16 – 18 May 2018 | Rotterdam (The Netherlands)

The most relevant classical music international fair nowadays. The AEOS participated as an exhibitor with a stand in which material and information of the different associated orchestras could be found. In addition, AEOS represented all partners in different conferences and forums with peer organizations such as the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) or the Association Française des Orchestres (AFO).


 

55th Pearle* Conference

 

24 – 26 May 2018 | Tallin ( Estonia)

AEOS is a member of Pearle: Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe. AEOS, trough Pearle, meets twice a year with European representatives of performing arts employers, to analyze the state of the art sector and support continental proposals for the improvement of the conditions of employers and employees of the orchestras. In this edition, debates on gender equality and campaigns like #MeToo were especially relevant.

La AEOS es miembro de Pearle: Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe a través de la cual se reúne dos veces al año con representantes de los empleadores de las artes escénicas a nivel europeo, para analizar el estado del arte del sector y apoyar propuestas continentales para el mejoramiento de las condiciones de empleadores y empleados de las orquestas. En esta edición fueron especialmente relevantes los debates sobre la igualdad de género y las campañas como #MeToo.


Red Colombiana de Orquestas Sinfónicas RECOS

 

4 – 5 Septiembre 2018 | Medellín (Colombia)

La AEOS participará como principal aliada estratégica para la reunión de la Red Colombiana de Orquestas Sinfónicas. Ana Mateo presidenta de la AEOS compartirá la experiencia de la Asociación de Orquestas en España y responderá preguntas de los diferentes representantes de las orquestas sinfónicas colombianas. Así mismo participarán como invitados la Association of British Orchestras y la Association française des Orchestres.
