Gilles Pillet has devoted his entire career to cultural organizations that put on live performances in France and especially in Paris: theatre, dance, opera and music. A significant part of his activity is focused on two areas: the creation and development of the organizations’ resources (ticketing, tie-ins, new market offers, fundraising) and the planning and development of new strategic approaches to audiences by striving to respond to contemporary issues: the role of an orchestra in the city, the ability to go out to meet distant audiences, the orchestra as a new citizen actor, etc.
He is currently responsible for audience services, the citizen program, communication and patronage at the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, associated with the Philharmonie de Paris. He also works as an administrator at Cultures du Cœur, a national association that advocates cultural mediation in the social setting as a tool to combat social exclusion and support reintegration.
Finally, Gilles Pillet teaches a class on communications in cultural enterprises to students in the master of music and performance administration program at the University of Evry Val-d ‘Essonne.
